This summer is an exciting time for Kriya RevGEN! Not only did we launch our internship program with our first ever summer intern, Ryan Saylor from Purdue University (read more about Ryan here), but we also welcome two of our talented software developers, Harikrishna Patel and Kaushik Prajapati, to our Texas office! Harikrishna “Hari” and Kaushik hail all the way from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India, a state in the northwest corner of India, and will be staying in the USA for just about a month July-August. Hari is one of the owners and founders of Softqube Technologies, a Web Design and Mobile Application company based in Ahmedabad, and Kaushik is one of his best project managers. Working with teams in India can be challenging due to the odd work hours (our morning is their night and vice versa), but we appreciate all that Softqube has done to help Kriya RevGEN grow to become the leader in hotel revenue management and hotel revenue management reporting.
During their visit, we have explored a lot of Dallas and enjoyed hearing and learning more about their Gujarati culture and cuisine. Hari and Kaushik are most surprised by the transportation, not just the lack of public transportation but also the orderly way we drive in the US without using horns or fender benders. We have explored the city from a bird’s eye view at Reunion Tower, taught them about the great and frustrating game of golf at TopGolf (Kaushik was a natural!), took them to a Rangers baseball game at Globe Life park and look forward to a final Kriya Hotels send off party at PinStack for bowling, games and laser tag. They have had more than their fair share of tacos, Japanese, Italian, TexMex, and we are pretty sure they are excited to return to their wives’ homemade Indian. They both miss their families and children (Hari has a daughter, Dwiti, and Kaushik has a son, Krish) but are having a great time in the US, and we’re enjoying having them here.
The most important part of our trip has been the unique opportunity to work one-on-one with our best developers. We used this opportunity to have them teach the entire team about the ins-and-outs of our sophisticated database that currently holds over 40 GB of data for all of our hotels down to the reservation level (that’s over 1,000,000 records each day!). We are also sailing through enhancements, various bugs and brainstorming new approaches to improve our systems and processes without the time or distance separating our teams. Read our July newsletter to learn more about our recent and upcoming enhancements! We are so excited to move forward with Hari, Kaushik and the rest of the Softqube team to roll out the latest and greatest technology for the world’s first and only web-based, reservation level, automated hotel revenue management system. We’ll miss them when they return home, but we can’t wait for what’s to come. Stay tuned!
