Tell me a little about where you came from and your previous experience.
I’m a Texan! Born in Fort Worth, raised in Irving. In regard to hospitality, my experiences have revolved around expanding my knowledge and learning about all areas of the Hotel Industry. I have worked with multiple Hilton brands like the Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites, and Homewood Suites. After working my way through the different positions in Operations, I became interested in Revenue Management. I was always on the other side of Revenue Calls and it always crossed my mind, what happens on the other side of the screen. And so, I got an opportunity to find out after interviewing with Kriya RevGEN and accepting a position as a Revenue Analyst.
How long have you worked for Kriya RevGEN, and what is it about Kriya RevGEN that you enjoy the most?
I have been working with Kriya RevGEN since September of 2017. What I enjoy the most about Kriya RevGEN is the Team aspect of the company. We are all students of the industry and are always willing to know more and learn more. We ask questions, we absorb information, and share our knowledge. It feels good to be able to count on every member of the team.
What’s the most challenging part of your job? What is the most exciting?
The most challenging part of my job is working with multiple Brands. Each Brand functions in it’s own way and it’s our responsibility to know and understand how. Though, this is a challenge to us all at Kriya RevGEN, it is also the most exciting part.
What is your favorite brand to manage?
Out of the brands that I currently manage, I would say La Quinta. NetRez is simple and easy to work with. However, my favorite brand, hands down, is Hilton. I don’t revenue manage any Hilton Hotels currently, but I will soon, and I look forward to when that day comes!
What is the best taco in Dallas?
The best tacos in Dallas for me have to be Torchy’s. I went to the University of Texas at Austin, the birthplace of Torchy’s, so it’s exciting to see Torchy’s springing up in Dallas the past few years. Even better, a location is opening up 2-3 minutes from my house! I can’t wait!
What’s your favorite office lunch spot?
I don’t have a favorite office lunch spot. I’m not picky when it comes to food, so I let the team decide. There is one place that the team always ends up deciding on when we can’t come to a verdict. Tio Carlos! Food is good, and service is quick! Can’t go wrong with that.
What’s it like sitting in the annex?
The annex is fun! My little Annex family includes Adam (aka the Big Cheese) and Liz (aka Miami Spice). We have jokes, a Texas climate (Freezing, Cold, Room Temperature, Warm, Hot, Sauna), and the Kriya RevGEN Gum stash!
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you want it to be?
I love pizza! Plain and simple! I could eat it every day!
You recently took a 1 month hiatus from Kriya RevGEN. Tell us what you were doing.
During my 1 month hiatus I took a trip to India and my life changed. I got married and I’m extremely happy. After the wedding, my wife and I went on our Honeymoon to the Maldives. We had loads of fun and it was an amazing experience. I would highly recommend to everyone, take a trip to the Maldives!
